Medieval towers
Torri degli Asinelli e Garisenda.
During the time of the Italian communes of the Middle Ages, the richest families and most powerful delivered a competition materialized by these large towers that it was necessary to have larger than the other.
From the about 200 towers that were built, it remains only few.
The two towers of Bologna lean since their construction.
The Torre Asinelli tower is 97m high, the 500 steps which lead to the top give more value to the superb sight on the roofs of Bologna.
