Inhabited before the Romans times, Susa was developed with the Empire.
There remain several monuments and ancient vestiges about this period as the Augustus arch (8 BC), a theatre, and the Savoy gate was modified in the Middle Ages.
The cathedral which dates from the XIth century was many times modified since.
